Abstract The search for a new energy paradigm with net-zero carbon emissions requires technologies generation and storage that are at the crossroad between engineering, chemistry, physics, surface, materials sciences. To keep pushing inherent boundaries of device performance lifetime, we need to step away from cook-and-look approach aim establish scientific ground guide design materials. This strong efforts in establishing bridges microscopy spectroscopy techniques, across multiple scales.
